Bonnie Dougherty

Bonnie has been a corporate banker for over 33 years after graduating from Adelphi University on a full academic scholarship.  She has her BA in Economics from Adelphi and later pursued and earned an MBA from Long Island University.  She spent the bulk of her career in client facing roles in the Commercial and Industrial lending departments at various banks including Chemical Bank, Fleet Bank, Key Bank and Valley National Bank (current employer).

Bonnie has been at Valley National Bank for over 18 years and was promoted along the way to Senior Vice President and Team Leader.  After successfully running commercial lending teams and portfolios, she transitioned to a role in Credit Risk Management in 2018.  She currently has several primary roles, including Senior Credit Officer, Project Manager, and Co-Chair of the ESG Council.  Her current position includes the oversight of three different teams responsible for the credit assessment of counterparties, investments, vendors, municipal clients, and global credit assessment for large and complex relationships.    

For many years Bonnie was the President of the Suffolk South Shore Lions Club.  She currently serves on the board of the Long Island Chapter of the RMA, on the board of the Long Island Chapter of WIFS, and serves on the Investment Committee for Adults & Children with Learning & Developmental Disabilities (“ACLD”).
